What this project is about.

Vaishu Costume Manager is a complete tailoring business management application created to organise customer measurements, garment orders, design references, delivery dates, invoices, payments, production progress and tailor workloads from one secure workspace. The admin dashboard gives the business a live view of total customers, orders by production status, sales, received amounts, outstanding balances and month-based performance. Beyond customer management, the system includes delivery scheduling, production control, dedicated tailor logins, assignment status tracking, company branding, notification history, recycle-bin recovery, business backups, offline-safe data capture, private image storage and mobile app support. It replaces scattered notebooks, spreadsheets and message-based follow-up with one structured daily workflow for the tailoring studio.

Why this system was needed.

A busy tailoring and costume business has to manage customer contact details, body measurements, garment-specific design notes, reference photos, promised delivery dates, advances, invoice balances, tailor assignments and production status at the same time. When these details are split across paper notes, WhatsApp messages and spreadsheets, staff can miss deadlines, lose design references, duplicate customer records, forget payment follow-up and struggle to see which tailor is handling each order.

How the project solves it.

A secure business management system was developed around the real tailoring workflow. Admin users can register customers, record detailed measurements and design references, schedule estimated finish dates, create invoices, record advance or later payments, track delivery status, assign work to tailors, review corrections and completion, send customer status or document notifications, monitor business analytics and restore accidentally removed records. Tailor accounts receive only their assigned work and can update progress through controlled statuses, notes and photos. Supabase provides authenticated cloud data, private storage, realtime assignment updates and security policies, while PWA, offline sync and Capacitor support make the workspace practical on desktop and mobile devices.

Secure Dashboard

Technical Mind

What was developed and configured technically.

React 18 and TypeScript are used for the main business interface, reusable components and strongly typed customer, order, payment and staff data structures.
Vite 6 provides the development and production build workflow, with separate admin and tailor build modes available for role-specific application packaging.
Supabase Auth handles secure password sessions for administrators and tailors, with role validation before the correct workspace is opened.
Supabase PostgreSQL stores business records such as customers, measurement orders, payments, company settings, staff profiles, tailor assignments, notifications and assignment activity.
Row Level Security policies protect staff, assignment, company and storage data so authenticated users only receive the information permitted for their role.
Supabase Storage keeps measurement/design images and assignment progress photos in protected buckets with signed URL access rather than public file exposure.
Supabase Realtime postgres-change subscriptions refresh tailor assignments, notifications, notes, photos and status history when production records change.
Offline measurement saving uses IndexedDB queueing and later synchronization so interrupted connectivity does not automatically discard an in-progress business record.
Tailor workspace data and assigned images can be cached for offline access, allowing staff to retain essential assigned-work information when connectivity is temporarily unavailable.
Service-worker registration and install-prompt handling provide PWA installation and controlled app-update behaviour for browser-based deployment.
Capacitor 8 configuration provides Android application builds, including separate administrator and tailor app modes and native push-notification integration.
Push notification logic registers native device tokens and supports assignment updates, due reminders and production review alerts for mobile staff workflows.
Invoice and receipt logic supports saved document numbers, GST, discounts, amount-in-words output, payment history, printing and customer document sharing.
Backup utilities generate restorable business snapshots plus CSV reports for orders and payments, while database backup history adds another recovery layer.
Responsive black-and-yellow interface styling keeps the dense management workspace usable across desktop, tablet and mobile screen sizes.
